A note from ParalympicsGB

Our mission is to use the power of the London 2012 Games to inspire lasting change in Paralympic sport in Great Britain. If British athletes perform well in London’s stadia, the success of the team will inspire change in the way people think, feel and behave towards disability and evoke respect for the abilities of Paralympic athletes. Importantly, role models will be created who will inspire more young disabled people to get in to sport.

ParalympicsGB receive no funding for it’s core activities, and so have to raise funds to ensure the British team receive the preparations they need and deserve to perform at their best when it matters most. Training camps, medical provisions, transportation, kit, media training – just a few of the elements ParalympicsGB has to provide to prepare the British team for the Paralympic Games and remove the pressures of

performing on home soil. That’s why the support of Deloitte Ride Across Britain is so crucial to helping ParalympicsGB to achieve their mission and leave real and lasting change to attitudes towards disability, so they need your help to reach the £1 million target.
